Frequently Asked Questions
What is PACA?
PACA is based on an award-winning course at WGU that promotes self-confidence, a thriving mindset, and enhances learning skills and habits through online lessons, group sessions, and personalized coaching. PACA helps you to develop the skills needed for academic and career success.
As you develop greater awareness of yourself through self-reflection, you will examine how your behaviors and mindsets influence your ability to attain your goals. You will then create a plan of action that will help you to move forward on your journey with confidence and persistence.
How do I attend PACA?
Each of your PACA sessions will be held in a Zoom meeting room online. Each week, you will receive a meeting link for the session. Everyone in the class will be on a webcam, so you will have the best experience if you can use a computer during the session so you can see everyone. However, you can also use a smartphone or tablet.
Please plan an attending from a quiet space so you can focus and get the most out of the experience. Remember that anything that could distract you could also distract your peers. Be respectful and have a great time!

Success Coaches are your advocates, your accountability partners, and a sounding board to guide you toward your goals. While your Success Coach is your guide; you are in the driver's seat.
Personalized coaching often costs a great deal in other settings, but your coaching experience here at Academy at WGU is included in the PAR program.
How do I reach my coach?
To contact your coach, check your email for a message from them that will contain their phone number, email, and link to schedule an appointment. You can also get assistance connecting with your coach by contacting PACA support by email at PACAsupport@academy.wgu.edu or by calling (888) 210-8880 > Option 1 > Option 4.
How fast can I complete the Math and English courses?
For the most part, you set your own pace for your academic courses. You can tackle the assessments (tests, assignments, etc.) whenever you are ready. You’ll mostly study on your own, but you’ll also have access to specialized course tutors when you need personalized help. The key to faster success is a simple formula: more effort = faster pace. We strongly encourage a steady, consistent effort following a regular study schedule. It pays off.
Do I get credit for my Math and English courses?
No, your Math and English courses are not for credit. Their focus is to help you to invest in your future and avoid having to take remedial courses.
